Pilates: Thoughts from your Claremont Physical Therapist

Definition: a physical fitness system developed by Joseph Pilates in Germany that uses the mind to control the muscles. It seeks to increase strength and flexibility.
Claremont physical therapy pilatesHistory: Joseph Pilates developed his exercise program in the early 1900’s in line with the German culture that believed exercises could cure illnesses. He used apparatuses and machines that he developed and called it “corrective exercise”, “medical gymnastics”, and contrology. Many of his first students were dancers and as they became knowledgeable about the exercises, they became known as The Elders. Most of the exercises were performed in studios and was limited to this group of athletes. This was more than likely the first group of exercisers to emphasize “core” strength.
Equipment: Several pieces of equipment are used in Pilates so that people can “get the method in their bodies”. The most popular and widely used is the Reformer. It uses a spring apparatus to progress the resistance. As the spring is stretched, the resistance increases. Other pieces of equipment are known as the Cadillac, the high (or electric) chair, the Wunda chair, the ladder barrel, the spine corrector (step barrel) and the small barrel. Other small props are often used, including small weighted balls, rotating discs, foam rollers, exercise balls and resistance bands.

Molds (sometimes referred to as black molds, even though mold can come in a variety of colors) may have a range of effects on people depending on exposure times, concentration, and other personal factors. However, these are not the lone factors when considering the health affects to mold exposure. Since dose and human response can be highly individualistic, the sensitivity of the person exposed is also an important consideration. Solar Energy – A Sustainable Power Is Harnessed

Perhaps if we are more aware of its use and its capacity as a sustainable power then maybe we will be able to use and promote solar power.

The Beginning of All Things

Unbeknownst to a lot of people, solar energy actually is the source of numerous sustainable powers like radiation, waves and wind. Solar energy has many usage it can give us light, heat, promote cooling, it can be harnessed through technology to power many things like for machines cooking, distillation, hot water, and disinfection.

Today, with the rising costs of electricity, the volatile oil prices, and its degenerating source have paved the way for solar energy once more. The consciousness environmental welfare has prompted companies to manufacture affordable solar technologies and sell it commercial. Indeed it is a fact that solar technology is expensive but it is only in the purchase of the machines needed in the long run if you calculate it, you are actually getting a bargain.
