The word yoga comes from the Sanskrit “yuj”, which means to yoke or to join. According to BKS Iyengar, “yoga is a method by which the restless mind is calmed and the energy directed into constructive channels”.
History: Yoga can be traced back 5000 years to India. It was actually mentioned in the Vedas, one of the oldest known sacred texts. The Father of Yoga is said to be Patanjali. Yoga is actually a system of practices developed to rejuvenate the body and prolong life.
